I had to read this book for one of my college classes. I don't have a lot to say about it. Just DON'T READ IT EVER IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY AVOID IT!!!! It was awful. Literally the worst book I've ever read--as you can tell from the cover, it's rather sketchy, though the guy with tattoos has nothing to do with the plot. It's just awful. So much swearing on every page and just a terrible story about alchemy, a snake oil medicine show, and evil people who do horrid, cruel things that kept me up at night. Violent, with R-rated content (not just violence, very crude and inappropriate moments) and language. Avoid at all costs. I have no idea how this gets a 3.7 rating on Goodreads, but I thought somebody better warn that it's awful.
